We designed this screened roof deck using cedar wood slats and a steel pergola. The space is full of built in seating and planters that make it functional as well as beautiful. We can use planters to create a privacy barrier and add some natural beauty to the space.
The planters were designed to fit in seamlessly into the space. Part of the design was to integrate some trees that our client had into the built-in planters. Bringing nature into the space helps create an outdoor oasis in this urban seating.
We added a pergola to give the space some shade as well as to add an architectural element component. Rest assured, we install pergolas that are designed to handle the extremes of Chicago weather.
While adding the final touches we added recessed lighting to the seating area and planters in addition to the cedar slats. Lighting is an aspect that can easily be overlooked and our designers will be sure to suggest the best lighting for your situation. Added lighting makes this space enjoyable well into the night.
